Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering with the Green and Gold Athletics Society
In an attempt to reduce the costs associated with participating in high school athletic programs the Green and Gold Athletic Society provides several opportunities for families to accrue volunteer credits which can be used to offset athlete registration fees for the various sports. These volunteer activities also help to fund several initiatives supported by the society. The volunteer opportunities include (but are not limited to):
- Serving on the Green and Gold Athletic Society Executive which is elected each September (See Below)
- Volunteering for available bingos (1 Bingo worked = 1 volunteer point)
- Volunteering for Casino positions (only available every other year)
- Volunteering for tournament concessions and other G and G sponsored events (1 shift worked = 1 point)
- Assisting with fundraising events like raffles and 50/50
Volunteering is optional and is intended as a means to reduce the athletic fees for your athlete . If you are not interested in or able to volunteer you may pay your registration fees in full through the registration system managed by the athletic department and MCHS admin office via your student's PowerSchool Account.
The system used to post and request the volunteer credits is called
ivolunteer. Priority is given to those with outstanding shift requirements from previous seasons in advance of releasing shifts to the general volunteer population. We ask that you only sign up once you have confirmation that your athlete is on a roster (do not bank credits prior to making a team).
Please review the detailed information and instructions listed on the
ivolunteer link before signing up for opportunities.
Be advised that failure to fulfill your volunteer shift will result in a $200 fee per point.
